Unable to remove duplicate field if the first one was included in Actions & Validations
Hi,
by mistake, I've added a field for data that I already have present on the form. For the one already present I has previously set some Action & Validations rules.
Now Bizagi does not allow me to remove the duplicate one due to the data being used in Action & Validation rules.
So I have to
1.) remove all occurrences of said data,
2.) then remove the duplicate field, and then
3.) again set up the Action & Validation rules for the said field.
It would be much better if Bizagi would recognize: "there are two the same fields. One must be set in order for Actions & Validations to work, so if the second one is deleted, one still remains and it is fine. The second one can be deleted".
Please see the attached image for more details.
Kind regards,
Dejan
Good afternoon Leave,
Indeed, as you describe it, it must be done, you must eliminate all the dependencies that the field that you want to delete has from the form (Rules, actions, validations), then eliminate it from the form and thus create a new vfield and associate everything you need to it.

This, unfortunately generally is not a good solution in sense of a user-friendly interface and indeed not solved in my perspective. In the case when one would have a dozen actions or validations performed with the wrongfully duplicated field on the form it makes things very complicated.
The user would first have to alter all dozen of good actions/validations, remove the duplicate field, and then hopefully restore the validations to a state in which it was before.
Bizagi could easily be improved in this matter by checking "after deleting this field, would be another instance of it already present?" If yes, allow deletion of the field, if not, show the message about dependencies.
I will create a new Idea topic on that matter. Hopefully, your devs will include it in their work, as both Bizagi and users would definitely benefit from it.
Kind regards,
Dejan
