Connectivity problems between Bizagi studio and Bizagi server project

Good morning,

I've been facing connectivity problems between my local Bizagi Studio and a Bizagi project installed on our company's Bizagi Studio Server Cloud. Both machines are on the same LAN, so we don't have connection problems in that way.

From my Bizagi Studio I can look up the projects from the server, but when I try to connect them I obtain the error: "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)".

We oppened all the ports shown on the documentation: and but the problem persists. To confirm it's a connection problem, we tried to open the firewalls on the Server machine and then the connectivity issues were fixed, and we could open the project from the local Bizagi installation without any problem. It must mean that it's a problem of connectivity between the machines, and we need to open certain ports that are not provided in the documentation.

Could you please help us and tell us which ports we should open, so we can connect and open projects on the server from the local Studio installation?

Thank you!

Best regargs,

Dear Guillermo,

Thank you for letting us know your questions. The ports listed in the article you mention are the default connection ports. In the case you are explaining, 1433 should be the correct port. Since it does not seem to work, we recommend that you check if the SQL server is executing in that port. You could also trace the requests in the firewall to see if some requests are rejected there.

Kind regards,
