Model based Testing

I am a Test Manager/Test Analyst and I use Model based Testing aspect in my Projects. i.e I model the System under Test first, analyze the various Events and Workflows, consolidate and optimzize various testcases to avoid redundant testcases. Recently I started to use the Bizagi Process Modeler to model the System under Test. Your Modeler saves my life me a lot. The export option to Work/PDF and Web is fanatastic, because it helps me to generate a document for the Testers with the Details for Test Input and expected results. The Element Count Tool helps me to get an Idea of how many Events, Gateways do I have to test. My suggestion is to offer an Add-on Tool for Test Analysts to generate the Testcases using methods like for eg:

  • Full Path Coverage
  • Full Edge Coverage
  • Full Node Coverage etc.

Normally it is a hard job for Test Analysts to write down Testcases from Design documents, especially when the system is complex and large. Once new functionalites are added to the System (which has complex workflows) or the workflow has been altered, it is a nightmare for Test Analysts to rewrite/edit the Testcases within a short span of time. By offering a Tool for the Testcase generation, the Bizagi Modeler can save the lives of the Testers. And if you offer this option, the Bizagi Modeler will be first tool to offer the complete spectrum starting from modeling, simulation,.. to tests, seamlessly.
