Linking pages (diagrams)

Hi folks, how are you doing?! :)

I've been trying to link pages (diagrams), because my process is too long. But, I cannot find a way or I do not understand how to do it when I read other posts here in the community.

Attached the way I thought it was possible. rs :) Is there another way??

Dear Felipe,

This Event is used to connect two sections of the Process.Link Events can be used to create looping situations or to avoid long Sequence Flow lines. If there are two link events on a process (one catch and one throw) the Modeler will understand they are linked together. If there is one catch and two throw, the Modeler will understand both throws are received by the catch. If there are several catch and throw events the name of the 'pairs' must match for the Modeler to understand which throw belongs to which catch.hmfile_hash_d6b55757Regards

Hi Juan, thanks for your support!

Please, I did not understand yet. Because, when I have set up the link as throw, and, the other as catch nothing has happened in the diagram view. In presentation mode when I click in the link throw it has opened a pop up, but nothing has been shown.

Let me ask you something to validate my thoughts:

- Is this used only in Presentation Mode?

- May I use it as hiperlink in the diagram view between diagrams?

- Could you send me a diagram sample to understand the usage?

Thank you for assistance, I'm glad.

Regards

Felipe

Dear Felipe,

According Link Events:

  • It cannot use between diagrams, neither between different processes. It only works to connect elements into the same process.
  • Into the presentation mode, it does not have the option to link to origin or destination. It only works in the exportation web (Check the attachment)
  • The best way to do what you need is to divide your big process into the small processes and to have your main process with reusable sub-processes. doing this, you will be able to browse from main process to sub-processes in the presentation view or exportation web and so on.

Hello,I have a slightly differing problem regarding a large enterprise process landscape with many process interfaces and multiple used sub-processes. I know about the feature of sub-process diagrams which can be viewed by clicking on the sub-process symbol when published as web files. Is it also possible to deposit single process chains in seperate .bpm files (which can be accessed, modiefied and interchanged without touching parent and sub-processes) and linking them via hyperlinks in order to avoid one single and therefore very large file?Embedded or attached files don't fit my requirements since I'd like to switch through my process chains by simple clicking.with best regardsSteffen

Dear Steffen,

Bizagi modeler works with the process as a family of various elements and therefore it shows the process as a join of this element. So it is difficult to have one element publish by itself, because there would be a various element missing in the picture.

Dear Mr. Diaz, thank you for your reply. Please let me point out that I don't want to publish single process chains with - as you said - missing elements in the picture. Rather I'd like to publish the whole landscape divided in several .bpm files with the option to link them as simple as a sub-process is linked to his respective parent process when published in one single file. The idea is to avoid one huge .bpm file which has to be accessed if changes are necessary. From your reply I assume that this is not possible with bizagi. Regarding this I'd like to know if there are known performance problems with very huge process landscapes? With best regards Steffen

Dear Steffen,

Bizagi does not have performance problems because it allows you to only open little diagrams as maximum, If you need to open one diagram then you need to close a opened one. You can click (right click) on diagram name and choose any option: Edit, close or Remove.
