Nested lanes (lanes inside lanes)
Hi everyone!
Is it possible to include lanes in lane?
I mean: There is a global process and roles (director, lawyer, economist, market analysist, saler).
Every role has it's own lane. I need make lane - "marketing", where should be market analysist & saler with their lanes.
The possibility for nested lanes is proposed as a suggested feature idea.
This is not possible the way you want.
The BPM notation does not allow it. Actually, the correct would you define the roles: analysist & saler.
You can also use: analysist (marketing) & saler (marketing)
Marcos, thank you for the reply, I'll use your advice.

Objection: the BPMN standard do allow nested lanes. Please refer to p.417, revision dated 03.01.11.
I agree. Nested lanes are allowed.
please include this feature
I wonder when this feature will be implemented since the request came about one year ago.
It is part of the BPMN 2.0 specification (page 306, spec. revision 2011-01-03).
For me this is a very important possibilitiy in BPMN for structuring my diagrams!
Dear Users,
We agree this is an important feature and treated as well in the BPMN specification.
We share that this feature has been planned for a future release.
We don't have an specific ETA of when it would be implemented at this point.
Best regards,
Hopefully you'll use this occasion to fix the way lane boxes are drawn

Still some time left, is there an update of the acutal status relating to lanes in lane possibility?
We are a new customer of Bizagi and it is still not possible to draw a scenario such as you have a pool representing your organization and e. g. your Human Resources department and your Finance department. Your Human Resources department consists, e. g. of your Head of HR, HR secretary and your Finance department consists of Head of Finances, secretary, CFO etc.
Maybe there are some issues avoiding this feature. Therefore, I would like to ask how Bizagi would suggest to draw this scenario with the current possibilities.
If there will be a future release, please let us know when it will be supported. It's no problem for us to wait for this feature.
As we are using a SAP ERP system we would like to use the Bizagi SAP integration in the future. Therefore, it is very important to have adequate diagrams.
Kind regards,
André

To be BPMN 2.0 Compliant nested swim lanes is required. Is there a update on when this feature will be provided?
I also miss this feature.
I also miss this feature. I'ts been four years since this was reported...
This is a really key required feature and modelling without this makes it difficult to model accurately and simply.
It would be good for Bizagi to respond to this to please give an ETA and what the blockers are to this being implemented please.
Dear All,
We apologize for the delay. Please understand that we manage a lot of information regarding problems, questions, and ideas, where our priority is to give you the best version of our product.
This feature is going to be proposed again but we cannot give you an ETA until is not official. Thanks for your understanding. Keep in touch.
Regards!
