How do you create a pool???
Maybe I'm just missing it but...
- Where on the palette is the Pool icon? I can't create a second pool...or a white box pool without a lane...or a black box pool.
- Shouldn't there be a Message connector or does one appear only when a second pool is created?
- When you drag over a new event, not all BPMN event types are represented. I'm assuming that the Modeler prevents you from doing anything "illegal" so that only the possible context event types for that situation are available...correct?
I'm certified by Bruce Silver himself...even took his Master Class so I'd love to see how you create Event Sub-Processes. Been drawing BPMN since 1.0 days...and before (remember ProVision from 2001?) I've used a ton of modelers but this will take a day or so to get used to, just for simple modeling. Let me know how to proceed. I'm sure I can figure a lot of this out.
PS: Working as the only process architect for a 750-person group at AT&T doing current to target then executable workflows. Think Bizagi can handle that???
Dear John,
At any moment, you can add a pool. When including a new Pool into a diagram, using smart alignment will line up the Pools to each other (left vertically alignment). To use this feature, make sure you drag the new Pool to the existing Pool's left start point (vertically near). Bizagi will highlight both Pools to indicate that you may drop the new one at this location and allow auto-alignment.
Embedded Sub-processes are an Inline block, that group process elements used in a certain point in the process within a Sub-process. According to BPMN, a Sub-process should not have pools or lanes as they are dependent on the parent process and subsequently have visibility to the parent's global data.
In order to make use of pools, lanes and milestones diagram elements in a Sub-process, change your default Sub-process to a reusable Sub-process. Reusable Sub-processes allow all of these elements. Note, in BPMN reusable sub-processes are called "Call Activities".
For more information please refer to Converting to reusable sub-process

Problem: My palette DOES NOT SHOW the new pool icon.
My palette doesn't resemble yours at all. See attachment. I feel completely handcuffed. What's wrong?
Dear John,
Please tell us what version of Bizagi you are using. In addition, tell us if you are working on a sub-process.
We look forward to hearing from you
11.0.0.2601. Installed less than a week ago. First main process...no subproceses.
Dear John,
The version that you have is Bizagi Studio. It does not have the possibility to use pools because a pool is a process. If you want to use pools in your diagrams, then you need to use Bizagi Modeler which can be downloaded from: http://www.bizagi.com/en/products/bpm-suite/modeler#downloadmodeler
Bizagi Studio is the tool to automate processes so that collaboration is the correct way to communicate between processes: http://help.bizagi.com/bpm-suite/en/index.html?bpmn_collaboration.htm
Best Regards
Ahhhhhh....... Now I can see how the modeler really works...but...
What happens when you create a model with multiple pools and then want to run it in Studio? How does that happen???
Dear John,
At the moment to import a bpm file with two or more pools, Bizagi Studio identifies each pool as one process.
Regards
