Export in bpmn 2.0 xml
Hi there
I have a question regarding exporting Bizagi files in BPMN 2.0 Notation as BPMN or XML file. I haven' found any option to save in this format. Is an Export in the format *.bpmn or *.xml (not attributes) not supported? As a co-author of the bpmn standard I would expect this export/import format (more than pictures or visio files).
Thank you anyway for this amazing modeling product!
Best regards
Lukas
Dear Lukas,
Thank you for your feedback.
You may choose to export your model as an XPDL file. The XPDL format is XML-based, as it is also the standard option for interoperability between different workflow products.Further information about exporting to XPDL in Bizagi.

Thank you for your immediate response.
Frankly, many modeling products (not workflow engine) request for an *.bpmn or *.xml format. Is there any existing support or planned support for exhange of these "pure" formats between different process modelers in BPMN 2.0 language?
Best regards,
Lukas
Dear Lukas,
We agree, and share that we do plan to support the .bpmn format from the specification for a future release.
In the meantime, the current option would still be to use export to XPDL 2.2 version.
Best regards,
Apparently there is no possibility to export extende data in table format. This would mean that exchanging models using the XPDL method results in loss of model documentation. Also, Bizagi Modeler doesn't support cross reference views (like: find all processes that have value X in table column Y). We would be able to use external tooling for these cross references, when we would have XML access to the table data that is in the model ... but there seems to be no means of getting that table data in a readable format (like XML). So, we do have a serious issue here I think: there is data in the model that cannot be retrieved in any sensible way (except from Word/PDF/Web, but that is not what we need).

This was 5 months ago. Any news on a timing when we'll be able to import and export BPMN2.0 files?
Dear Durex,
Thank you for your feedback.
This idea is in our road map.
We don't have an approximate date for this feature's release.
Best regards,
Daisuke,Is import and export BPMN 2.0 files still in the product roadmap? When do you think it may actually make it into the product? In 2013? or later? Thanks.
We have been using Bizagi for a while and now that we have reached that level in which the model should be exported as BPMN 2.0 (XML) file to be distributed across different parties, we encountered this gap in the functionality.
I really see this as a big disadvantage of the tool. In fact it diminishes the power of documenting processes as BPMN diagrams as you cannot deliver the WYMIWYE - "what you model is what you execute" principle. Last but not least this could be also seen as a vendor-locking situation for those customers not having Bizagi as BPM engine.
Many thanks,
Roberto Viana
Dear Roberto,
In our last release Bizagi Modeler 2.8.0.8, we support BPMN 2.0. Bizagi offers the possibility to share your diagrams with others modeling tools that use BPMN notation. You can export your diagrams to the BPMN 2.0 xml format.
