Balancing Gateways - What is the Right Way

Hi Everyone,

I am Reading the BPMN 2.0 non normative guide examples, downloaded from https://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc?dtc/10-06-02

and on the page 16 (6.1 High level Model for quick understanding) there is na example that I think is out of the best practices suggested on Bizagi FAQ site.

Attached to this question I have put both examples, the way that is designed on the book and the way that I designed following the principle that gateways shoul be balanced. Can you see if it is right or if there is any suggestion to give to me? Which model are right or both are?

Thank you very much for your help!

Dear Raphael,

The second model is better because you must use gateways to merge two different paths, instances of the process. If the second model is not working we recommend replacing the 3 gateways at the right side of the model by parallel gateways (convergence).
