Autoconversion to association instead of message flow

When a Data Object icon is dragged from a cloud surrounding e.g. a task on a diagram and dropped into the same pool, it's automatically connected by a directed data association. So far so good.

But when it's dropped beyond the pool then the modeler automatically uses message flow instead of association:

This is subtle error that often comes unnoticed by authors.
