How to assign data objects to a sequence flow?

It seems to me it is not possible to attach data objects to a sequence flow using an association. In fact it is allowed in BPMN 2.0

Dear Marc,

You may attach a data object's association to a sequence flow by dragging the association into the sequence flow's middle point.

You will see that a green connection point highlights so that you can drop (assign) the association in this point.

It would be great to visualize these connection points at sequence flows or at any other element so the user can find them faster, sometimes it's tricky to find them.

Has this functionality been deprecated? It doesn't appear to be possible to connect an assocation to a sequence flow as described above.

Dear users,

We apologise for the late reply. We are currently at version 3.8 of Bizagi Modeller, so I expect that the issue you were experiencing has been resolved.

It is possible to associate data objects to both sequence flows and tasks

- Firstly, drag an association flow from the palette and attach one end to the activity or sequence flow

- Then drag a data object from the palette and attach this to the other end of the association flow.

- Finally, manouvre the objects to their desired positions.

A new version was recently released, and you can get this from https://portal.bizagi.com/en/downloads

Please let us know if this has resolved your problem, we look forward to your response.

Kind regards,

David Foster

Dear Christoph,

No, it is not possible to connect an association flow to a sequence flow. You may only connect flows to elements, and not to other flows.
