The email templates could allow xpath expressions in the "to" and "cc"

In some scenarios we need to assign the recipient of an email according to business rules, I believe that enabling xpath expressions in the email destination fields would make the job easier.

Dear Felipe,

The best way to do what you need is to store in a xpath the result of the business rule. Then, on the email template, use the stored xpath.

Thank you so much for the quick reply!

Could you give me an example of how to do this?

Dear Felipe,

You mentioned that you have an expression to get an email account to whom sends an email. You can execute it in a task event, for example, on enter. The result of it can be assign to a temporal xpath ( you require to go to your data model and create a string attribute called tempxpath).

  1. <myprocessentity.tempxpath> = resultoftheexpression;

Then, you need to go email template and select the xpath: <myprocessentity.tempxpath>
