Tag <CaseNumber>

Hi all,

I want to send an email notification to my users every time a case is created. I'm doing this via an activity action set on the "On Exit" event of the first task of the process. My problem is that the tag <CaseNumber> is empty.

When is this tag populated? If I create a script task and send the email from there can I place this new task immediately after the first one even if both tasks are in the Case Creation milestone? Or must I place the script task on a "Process" milestone?

Dear Eduardo,

In order to notify to users about new cases, the best way is to enable automatic notification. Using this, you will be able to modify the text according your needs.

Modifying Automatic Notifications template

Automatic Notifications have a default template that can be customized. Keep in mind that NO business information can be included since the template is global, that is, applies to all tasks of all Processes of a project. 1. In Bizagi Studio, go to the Configuration tab and click Business. I know all of that. If automatic notifications solved my problem I wouldn't have published my question.

Your answer doesn't come even close to answering my question.

My question was pretty straight forward: When is the <CaseNumber> tag populated?

I'm sorry but I still can't understand how your reply answers my question.

In your print screen, the subject of the email is "RFC <CaseNumber> Accepted", I just want to know if <CaseNumber> will be available if that email is sent from an activity action defined on an activity that is inside the Case Creation phase.

From the tests I've done the tag remains empty if it's called anywhere within the case creation phase. This contradicts what's stated in the help page regarding case numbering:

"Assign the Case Number at: Defines the moment in the Case life when the Case Number is set. It can be at the Case Creation or at the End of creation phase. This is useful when the creation phase consists of more than one activity."

Before you ask, I have "Assign the case number at" set to "Case creation".
