Perform Activity and Set Event - Can I use it with non human tasks or events?

Dear Bizagi Forum Members,

I am currently working in a project where I have several tasks which are executed in legacy systems. When these applications finishes the tasks, we are expecting them to execute a Bizagi webservice to perform the corresponding task.

When I take a look at Bizagi SOA Layer, I find that both Perform Activity and Set Event services are bounded to a human task or none intermediate event, respectively. Both these will generate a pending task in a user inbox.

My question is: Is it possible to use a message receive event or task and perform it through the SOA Layer? This is quite common in other BPMS such as Oracle BPM or IBM BPM.

Thank you for your interest in Bizagi.

It is possible to advance an intermediate event through the SOA layer with setEvent method or an activity of any kind with PerformActivity method. Although usually in such situations is preferred to use an intermediate event:
