Not a Problem

New table row with a required document column

Hello,

With the last BizAgi go Enterprise .Net release users are unable to create a new row in a collection with a required document column:

- The required document can't be uploaded until the new row is saved in the table (by clicking the small save label in the table footer).

- The new row cannot be saved because an error message appears demanding to fulfill the required document column.

The only workaround I found consists in setting the required attribute to false for the document column, but it's not a final / proper solution.

Are you aware of this? Do you know another workaround I may missed?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Jose F

Dear Jose,This behavior is known in Bizagi 10 "grid with inline add" (http://help.bizagi.com/bpmsuite/en/index.html?add_records.htm).

One needs to save before attempting the upload in order to upload a file, because it is necessary to obtain the id of the record being created.

There is no other different workaround outlined by you.

The other option is to not use inline add and define a form of addition.

Best Regards

Dear Juan,

Ok, thank you for your response.

The addition forms seems to me a better workaround.

Kind regards,

dear juan, i wondered if this issue has been solved in newer versions of the product. its really countintuitive to have to save records in a table before i can attatch files to them. also, as stated above, it prohibits the end user from having a clean, simple interface to upload files.

Dear COASA,

It is the same. One needs to save before attempting the upload in order to upload a file, because it is necessary to obtain the id of the record being created.
