Cascading combo inside tables

Can I creating a cascading combo inside a table? For example, I select a Contry in the first column and then select a belonging City in the second column. I'll do the same for de next rows of the table.

Thanks and regards,

Hello Walter,

I had a similar situation, what I did to resolve this issue was to set adding the records to the table thru a form. When configuring how the user will be adding the records to the table, you can turn the inline add into false and then set a form in which you can include the cascading combo control and it worked just fine for me. Maybe this solution won't be suitable for all the situations in which you need to use this property inside a table, but it's an option.

The following page, illustrates how you can set the forms to add records into a table: http://help.bizagi.com/bpm-suite/en/index.html?add_records.htm

Hope this helps you.

Kind Regards,

Eduardo.

Eduardo, that was helpful. Thank you.

I'm having an additional problem. My cascading combo has three levels. When selections are made for all three levels using a form, the data is then transferred to my table correctly. However, it seems that the data is not captured when all three levels are not completed. The results do not appear in the table for those levels where a selection was made (say, the first two but not the last/bottom level). Not only that, if I go to the (blank) table row where the data should have been and edit it, the form opens as if nothing was ever selected. Something seems to be set wrong but I can't find what. Or it is a Bizagi requirement of a cascading combo that all three levels are completed? In my scenario, it is not always needed.

Dear William,

Regarding cascading combo, please bear in mind these considerations:

  • Cascading combos apply for Parameter entities only.
  • The attribute that must be related to the data model is the child of the relationship. For example, if the Country - City combo wants to be displayed, the attribute City is the one to be related in the data model.
  • The child attribute MUST have a Parent entity.
  • Always give the Cascading combo a Display attribute.
