can i assign the value of a count function to an attribute in a master entity ?

I'm trying to assign the value of a count function to an attribute using an expression but it don't seem to work.

this is the code i'm using:

var res = <count(getattendancetest.idAttendance[IsAbsent=true])>;

Me.setXPath("getattendancetest.idAttendance.Student.Absentdays",res);

Dear Ahmad,

Yes, you can do it. Please try this:

var res = <count(getattendancetest.idAttendance[IsAbsent=true])>;

<[ProcessEntityName].[AttribName]>=res;

Dear Juan Zuluaga

i did what you've suggested above, but no changes were made.

i used this code :

var res =<count(attendance_v2.Student.getattendancetest.idAttendance[IsAbsent=true])>;<attendance_v2.Student.Absentdays>=res;

Dear Juan Zuluaga

i guess i'm retrieving values in a wrong way , what i'm trying to do is to count absence for a specific student that i retrieve using the search functionality.

in the activity actions i've created an expression on save that counts the number of absence when its value is set to true.
