Calculated control

Hi,

How can i define a "calculated control" in a table for exemple to display the unit price times a quantity (this calculated column is not linked to a database field) ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

In the same way, how is it possible to represent a related field with an expression and not only with an attribute (selected in Display attribute) ?

My need is the following : i have a master entity "Complaint" which is linked to a master entity "Customer".

When i display my form for "Complaint", after selecting a "Customer", i want to display not only his name but a string calculated by a expression like : name + " (" + city + " " + zipcode + ")".

And i don't want to overload my database by creating a new field in my customer table.

Thanks for your help and advices.

Dear Philippe,

I think that you two questions; The first one can be developed with totalizers. Totalizers are aggregate functions applied to table columns in order to obtain a unique value, which will shown at the bottom of the column.

They are only meant as a display option (storing the totalizer is not currently possible). To store the total value of a column please refer to: store the total value of a column using expressions. For further information: http://help.bizagi.com/bpmsuite/en/index.html?grid_totalizers.htm.

For the second question can be developed with Vocabularies. Vocabularies are definitions that obtain or set information to be used in Expressions and Policies. The main advantage of Vocabularies is that their values are easily changed by end users in the Work Portal, allowing flexibility and adaptability to changing business conditions.

Thank for you answer.

Concerning the first point, totalizer doesn't answer to my need because i want to have one displayed field for each line and not a total at the bottom of the column.

I'll have a look on Vocabularies but i'm not sure it's a correct answer to my need.

I've had a look on Vocabularies but i think it's not a answer to my need.

I precise what I want to do :

- i have a form to enter a complaint

- in this form, i have to choose a customer (relational attribute to a master entity)

- i open my search form to select a customer and i come back to my first form

- in this first form, the customer is displayed using the "Display attribute" defined in Studio

But, for the "display attribute", you could only choose a database field, not a expression built on database field.

And i would like my customer to be viewed in the complaint form as "name + " (" + city + " " + zipcode + ")".".

Is it more clear ?

(sorry for my poor english)

Dear Philippe,

Thank you for your feedback. It is much clear. You need to concatenate using form actions. Please check this article: http://help.bizagi.com/bpmsuite/en/index.html?configuring_basic_actions.htm.

With this option, you can execute a rule: http://help.bizagi.com/bpmsuite/en/index.html?other_actions.htm

<customer> = <name> + " ( " + <city> + " " + <zipcode> +" ).";

Where <XX> are values of your master entity.
