Automatic Notification doesn't send email (User notification is fine)

Maybe I am not understanding the concept of automatic notification correctly.

On the activity in Model Process I make sure to check the Notify property

On the same activity in Performers my assignation method is everyone and the conditions equal to a role I have setup.

I have several users assigned to that role with their emails defined in the Work Portal.

I know my email configuration is fine because I have user notifications working with no problems.

However when control makes it to the activity I configure for automatic notifications no emails are sent. All the users are assigned as expected, but none received an email to go check their inbox. Is there any known issues with automatic notifications right now?

Dear Jeffrey,

Mark the Notify option, to send a message automatically to all users assigned to the activity or event.

Repeat for all Activities that need this configuration and save the model.

Thank you, Juan, for confirming that I was using the correct procedure and referencing the correct help section. I have attached a screen shot showing how I have checked the Notify property in my model according to the help instructions. However when the case reaches this step, the correct users are assigned according to the assignation method that is configured for this activity, but none of them receive the notification e-mail. I have another activity later in the process on which user notification is configured and that works fine. Therefore I know my e-mail configuration is correct. I am not sure what else to try for troubleshooting.

Juan,

Please discontinue any further troubleshooting and mark this issue resolved. In addition to the Notify property being checked for each activity in the model for which automatic notifications are to be sent, the 'Notify by Email' property must be checked in each assigned User's configuration in the work portal to whom automated emails are to be sent. That property was not checked for any of my users when they were first setup. Now that the property is checked automated notifications work fine.

I wonder if it would be helpful to add a sentence in the help documentation: http://help.bizagi.com/bpm-suite/en/index.html?automatic_email_messages.htm that makes a cross reference to this additional required configuration that must performed in the work portal http://help.bizagi.com/bpm-suite/en/index.html?automatic_email_messages.htm. Now it is very intuitive for me that both properties (in addition to the email server of course) must be configured, but it took me a while to make the cross connection between the Studio and Work Portal configurations.
