Straight line message flows

When I have a message flow between a Task or Event and a Pool, or between two Pools, I can't work out how to get a straight line Message Flow between the two objects. The problem seems to be when connecting to a Pool, there are only a limited number of allowed connection points. Please note, that I don't want to have to make all my Pools the same length just to get round this.

I have attached a file that illustrates the problem. The aim is to try and get all the message flows to be straight, and to align flows between Process -> External 1 with the flows between External 1 and External 2. I have tried all ways to do this without success.

On another note, the attached model gives Validation errors when there is more than one message flow in the same direction between two pools, which I do not think is consistent with the BPMN specification which suggests using multiple message flows between black box Pools to illustrate collaborations.

Still awaiting a response, but just wanted to add that I am becoming increasingly frustrated with this aspect of the tool. The connection of Message Flow to Pool is erratic and unwieldy - bordering on impossible to use. You get hold of the Flow end and try to adjust it's position only to find it reverts to the centre of the Pool. Then you bring it back to position and think it has connected only to find when you move the Pool it isn't connected.

Dear David,

Can you please attach an image/screenshot to better explain your idea? We want to know how are you establishing these connections. Attached is an image to have a reference.

We look forward to hearing from you.
