Simulation fails for arrival count > 52

Hello everybody,

my model worked perfectly. I then started to use normal distributions for each step. It wokred fine until I set max arrival count 100. In the midlle of the simulation there came an error:

"The simulation has failed. Please ensure that your model is compliant to the BPMN 2.0 standard and that it is supported by the Simulation engine."

I tested everything and could only find out, that it works for a max arrival count of 52 and below. But not for 53 or hight. Any ideas how to fix this? I tried to attached the file but .bpm is said to be the wrong file type?!?

Dear Niklas,

It is possible that the diagram is getting negative results. For this reason, we suggest to implement Truncated Normal Distribution instead of Normal Distribution.

Thank you very much! I thought that might be the problem!

In this context another question:

Is it possible to combine a negative exponential function with a normal distribution?

For example something that needs to be done by a human-being which has a learning curve and varies in time around a certain mean.

Dear Niklas,

Regarding your last question, you can only use one type of distribution at the same time in a parameter. That means that it can be or normal or negative exponential or truncated normal.

Modeler can only ensure that the curve does not yield negative values because activity times can not be negative
