Process SLA

Hi All,

I have a requirement to define jeopardy on the entire process level, example if the process doesn't complete in 2 days then raise an escalation. Any ideas how to achieve this using BPMN or Bizagi tooling?

I am aware we can utilize boundary timer events or intermediate events, but that is still at task level and doesn't run on a process level start to end..

Any pointers would help.

Thanks in advance

Dear Neha,

You can diagram it using intermediate event like timer event, in which, after a time (2 days) proceed to send an email and escalate to another area. Bizagi Studio is able to identify this time and execute a task through the scheduler.

Also Bizagi studio has a way to define alarms (http://help.bizagi.com/bpmsuite/en/index.html?defining_alarms.htm). When executing a Process, the duration of Tasks must be controlled to adhere to the organization's compliance metrics, manage process times, and allow for decision making to enhance process performance In order to do so, Bizagi provides a tool that allows you to generate warnings for different people when a Task is about to expire, expires or has expired. Alarms in Bizagi are triggered as email notifications. A message is send to a specified person to inform the status of a Task and thereby prompting the necessary actions to complete the pending Activity.

Thanks for your response.

I am somewhat not convinced that Bizagi intermediate timer event will work here, because I don't want the process to halt and wait for timer to complete. I want the process to raise an escalation only if the process is not complete within 2 days.

Is still this event is recommended, my question is where can I define when the timer should start counting? Like does the process wait for defined time after the intermediate timer event is reached or its already counting the time from process start
