Can't set processing time for subprocesses

Hello. I've found what it seems to be a bug in Bizagi (I tried both the 3.0 and 3.1 versions): I can't set the processing time (in the simulation - > time analysis tab) for subprocesses, unless the subprocess is empty (e.g., contains no element).

Could you replicate this problem? Is there a workaround?

Dear Victor,

Regarding sub-processes, Elements contained in Reusable Sub-processes are not simulated. If you include a Reusable Sub-process in your model you will have to set a overall processing time for the shape. If you want to simulate the logic included within a Sub-process, use Embedded Sub-processes.

Please check the consideration at: http://help.bizagi.com/processmodeler/en/index.html?simulation_in_bizagi.htm

Hello Juan,

Thanks for answering! However, I don't think this is the case! First, I'm not using reusable sub-processes. Second, the logic inside the sub-process is simulated; however, I can't set the processing time for the whole sub-process, possibility inferred from the following image I've found in your documentation:

You can find attached a model presenting this issue!

Thank you! Best Regards,

Victor

Dear Victor,

Please send it to modeler@bizagi.com to analyse it. This information will be treated as strictly confidential and the file will be deleted once it is no longer necessary for support purposes.

Dear Victor,

We were analysing this case with our product team. The embedded sub-process works like this:

  • When it has activities, one needs to assign time to each activity and no to the sub-process because the result will be taken from the execution of each activity.
  • When it does not have activities, one needs to assign a estimated process time to it.

Ok Juan, thank you!

Just take this opportunity to suggest you guys to let this politic more clear in your documentation, and also to consider allowing time-setting to sub-processes (since it is very common to have the need of working with time definitions for sets of activities rather than for each activity individually).

Thanks and Regards,

Victor
